Grumpy's Pond

Discover East Crinnis’ Grumpy’s Pond—wildlife-rich, with ducks, herons, and deer, plus magical fairy trails, beginner-friendly fishing, and summer storytelling around the campfire.

Children’s Activites

We created a wetland on the farm back in 1995 and it's now established into a wonderul large pond and conservation area of the site. On the pond you'll find Ducks, Geese and Moorhens who have made this area their homes. Also you might see a Heron or Kingfisher trying to catch their lunch or an Owl or Buzzard, or maybe even a Deer coming for a drink.

Fishing is also allowed on the pond but please note due to the Heron and sea birds coming to the pond we only have smaller fish ideal for beginners, with Rudd, Roach or Carp. Fishing is free for our guest but we ask you to return all fish and use barbless hooks, repsecting the enviromnent of the pond. Also please make sure you have a Environment agency rod licence.

Grumpys pond is home to our magical fairy door trail where you'll find 12 different doors through the magical pathways each with their own uniqiue deisgn. This is a wonderful family trail as you have to look very closely and even find the hidden paths.

During the summer holidays in August we have magical story telling around a campfire once a week with our amazing professional story tellers bringing back a tradition of the years gone by.
