March
St Pirans Day 5th March – Celebrations take place across Cornwall to honour St Piran, one of the most popular patron Saints. Be it an open air play, a singalong in a pub or a procession through a town, just look out for a black and white flag.
April
Cornwall Spring Flower Show (Lostwithiel) 7th – 8th April – A fragrant celebration of Cornish garden mania. Exuberant displays with camellias, daffodils, rhododendrons guaranteeing a colourful spectacle at the Boconnoc Estate. featuring show gardens, horticultural trade stands and competitive class.
May
Padstow May Day – 1st May – The biggest day in Padstow’s calendar. It’s not unusual for 30,000 people to flock into this little town on the day when Padstonians from all over the world return to their roots.
Open Car Show – 1st May – St Austell – The CMC Riviera Run “Open Car Show” is our Bank Holiday Monday open show for all makes and models of car including Minis attending for the CMC Riviera Run and any other classic, sports, performance vehicles you wish to show in the showground with live music, traders, food, drink and entertainment in the field and the beautiful Pentewan Sands Beach to enjoy. Come along and join us for the last day of the CMC show weekend and share your passion for cars with us. All cars welcome in the showground on Monday.
Swim -SUP-Run – 6th May – This is the ultimate alternative triathlon for all skill levels – the Swim-SUP-Run will once again take place at Carlyon bay in 2023.
The traditional bike leg is replaced with a Stand Up Paddle board! No fancy carbon bikes, just you, a SUP board and your core strength. The tri starts with a 750m sea swim. Once completed and after a quick transition on the beach you’ll pick up your SUP and jump aboard for a 1.5km paddle before returning to the beach and into transition. Here you’ll leave your SUP and get your trainers on for the final leg, a loop of Carlyon Bay golf course to Spit beach and back to finish.

Fowey Festival of Arts and Literature 12th – 19th May – Exciting programme includes talks, interviews, creative and practical workshops, exhibitions, presentations, theatre, musical concerts, an Art trail, guided walks and river cruises to enjoy, inform, challenge and inspire the imagination.
St Ives Food & Drinks Festival – 12th – 15th May – Taking place on the iconic Porthminster Beach, the St Ives Food and Drink Festival promises culinary experts, attractions and a wide variety of local beverages and food over 3 days. A fantastic range of activities, music and entertainment which promises plenty of fun for all the family. We work with the very best local businesses to deliver the best food and drink festival every year.
SwimRun (The Hokey Cokey) – 27th May – The Hokey Cokey is Cornwalls toughest multi-sport event, don’t be deceived by the distances this is a testing event and a real challenge!!! This will be their 6th edition of the Hokey Cokey and is located within the heart of the lovely coastal harbour village of Charlestown. There are strong (long) and short course options available to participants which enables experienced athletes and beginners to take part. STRONG Course = approximately 13.8km of running and 5.2km of sea swimming – 11 stages.

You can enter either distance as an individual or you can enter the long course as a pair and race together with a friend, hopefully they will still be a friend, at the end of the day!

Royal Cornwall Show (Wadebridge) 8th – 10th June – Cornwall’s showcase since 1793 and a fascinating glimpse into rural life. Apart from the livestock judging, there is the famous flower tent, show jumping and a fast and furious inter-hunt relay.
Rock up and Sea Festival – 17th June – This June, join us for an unmissable day of incredible entertainment set amongst the scenic shores of Newquay’s Lusty Glaze Beach. From amazing music and inspiring guest speakers to exciting workshops, expert activities and more, make new memories at ‘Rock Up and Sea’.
Mevagissey Feast Week 25th June – 1st July – Community festival packed full of entertainment. Crab catching on the harbour, fishing boat races, dance along the street in the traditional flora dance, swing your partner at the ceilidh or simply watch and enjoy.

Tropical Pressure Festival (Truro) 14th – 16th July – Tropical Pressure Festival – Celebrating the rich cultures of Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean on the cliffs of Cornwall.
Boardmasters Surf, Skate and Music (Newquay) 21st – 23rd July – Surf, skate & music festival situated across two legendary locations featuring the best in action sports including surfing and a laid back music festival.owcases vintage vehicles including full size and miniature steam engines.
Boconnoc Steam Fair (Lostwithiel) 27th July – 29th July – An old fashioned steam extravaganza held annually in the magnificent grounds of the Boconnoc Estate.
Rock Oyster Festival – 27th – 30th July – a voyage of culinary discovery and musical mischief in Wadebridge. Line up includes Groove Armada, Nile Rogers & Chic, Sophie Ellis-Bextor. Chefs Line up include Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Andy Oliver, and Olia Hercules.
Charlestown Regatta – 29th July – 4th August A week of fun events for all the family including includes events such as the fun triathlon, raft races, donkey derby, live music and colourful carnival to raise funds for the local community.
August
Imery’s Kaolinite – 13th August – New for 2023 and something we’ve been trying to get going for a number of years is the Imery’s Kaolinite, based in the amazing/unique surroundings of Blackpool Pit near St Austell.
Blackpool Pit closed in 2007 and had been open for 170 years employing over 500 people and bringing industry and jobs to the local community. Now this disused quarry (over 300ft deep) and over a km in length is largely deserted.
Mad Hatter Sports have managed to secure access to this unique landscape pit for the day and we are delighted to host a day of sports in and around the pit from SUP races, swimming, running and the headline Aquathlon.
First up will be the SUP race with 3km (1 lap) and 6km (2 laps) distances for you to choose from.
Fowey Classic Car Show – 16th August – We are holding a classic car and vehicle show again in 2023, followed by a vehicle parade through the town. from 1pm.
Fowey Regatta 19th – 25th August One of the best local regattas in the country,with a fun-filled week for all the family. Events include a midweek carnival, Red Arrows display and a spectacular firework display over the harbour.
September
Polo On The Beach (Watergate Bay, Newquay) 9th – 11th September – Aspall Polo on the Beach weekend event takes place at Watergate Bay near Newquay, with the promise of speed and excitement featuring some of the country’s top professional polo players.
Newquay Beer Festival – 22nd – 24th September – Newquay Towan Blystra Lions welcome you to the 10th Newquay Beer Festival – an event where you can enjoy sampling over 100 different beers and ciders from across Cornwall. And our fantastic GIN BAR featuring some amazing Cornish offerings and some regular favourites too will be returning.
October
Falmouth Oyster Festival 12th – 15th October – Packed with cookery demonstrations by leading local chefs, oysters, seafood, wine and local ale, sea shanties, and marquees brimming with Cornish produce.
